There is no fixed "rank" in ChatGPT. Ask it the same question twice and you can get different businesses. What you can measure is how often it names you when buyers ask, and who it names instead. That is what this check does.
Why a single rank misleads
Search engines show the same ten links to most people for a while. AI assistants write a new answer each time, shaped by the exact wording, the country, and what the assistant found on the web at that moment. A screenshot of one answer, or one position number, tells you what happened once. It cannot tell you whether you are usually there.
What to measure instead
- Share of answers: out of many answers to your buyers' questions, how many name you.
- Who is named instead: the businesses the assistant prefers, and how often.
- The sources it relied on: the pages behind the answers, which are where you need to be mentioned.
