About Boldlisted

Boldlisted shows businesses and the agencies that serve them whether AI assistants name them when buyers ask for a recommendation, who is named instead, and which websites the answers relied on. Then it tracks that every week and drafts the pages that fill the gaps.

Who runs it

Boldlisted is made and run by Jordan Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17358646, with its registered office at 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. Subscriptions, invoices and customer data sit with that company. Jordan Labs Ltd also makes other small software products; one of them, burncaps.app, is the business in our sample client report.

What we measure

One thing: whether AI assistants name a business when its buyers ask them for a recommendation. We start from the business's own home page and write the questions a buyer would type, without the business's name in them, because buyers who do not know a business yet never type its name.

  • The free check asks 10 such questions on ChatGPT and Gemini: 20 answers.
  • Paid plans ask 25 questions for each business every week: twice on ChatGPT and Gemini, once on Claude and Perplexity, which makes 150 answers a week. Customers can edit the questions.

How the answers are captured

ChatGPT and Gemini answers are captured from the assistants' own consumer screens, as a logged-out person in the chosen country sees them, through DataForSEO, a data provider that runs those requests for us. We do not use a developer API for these two, because its answers differ from what people see. Claude and Perplexity are asked through their developer interfaces, also through DataForSEO, with web search switched on.

How we count

An answer counts as naming a business when the business's name or its website appears in it. An AI model reads which businesses each answer recommends, and we match them to the business being checked. A rival that the question itself names, as in "alternatives to" a named company, is not counted as named instead for that answer.

We report "named in X of N answers", never a rank. Assistants write every answer fresh: the wording, the country and what the assistant found on the web at that moment all shape it, so the same question asked twice can name different businesses. One screenshot shows what happened once; a count across many answers shows what usually happens.

What we do not do

Boldlisted is not a full SEO tool. It does not track Google rankings, backlinks or site speed. It cannot promise that an assistant will name a business more often: it shows what the assistants said and which pages they relied on, so you can act on it.

Our own research

In October 2026 we ran the check on 57 marketing agencies that sell AI search work and published what the 1,140 answers relied on, with how we counted: generative engine optimization, measured. We do not publish any agency's own results.

Data and privacy

To run a check we read a website's public home page, its robots.txt and its llms.txt, and nothing behind a login; our reader identifies itself as BoldlistedCheck. An email address you give us is used to send your report and, only if you tick the box, one follow-up. Card payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see card numbers. The details are in our privacy notice and terms.

The free check asks ChatGPT and Gemini ten questions your buyers ask, as a real person in your country sees them, and shows who they name instead of you. About two minutes, no sign-up.
