Looking for a HubSpot AEO Grader alternative?

HubSpot's free grader, called AI Search Grader on its own page and AEO Grader on HubSpot's AEO page, scores once how ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini describe your brand. Boldlisted measures something else: whether the assistants name you when a buyer asks for a recommendation without your name in the question. Here is how the free checks and the paid trackers compare, with HubSpot's details taken from its own pages.

Two free checks, two different questions

HubSpot's grader takes your company name, location, industry and product, and asks the models how they characterise your brand. HubSpot says the grader works from the models' training data (its AEO page adds that Perplexity uses live search), and it returns a score out of 100 in five weighted parts: sentiment 40 points, presence quality 20, brand recognition 20, share of voice 10 and market competition 10. It is ready in under two minutes, needs no account, and asks you to fill in a form for the full report.

Boldlisted's free check never types your name. It reads your home page, writes ten questions a buyer would ask, and puts them to ChatGPT and Gemini as a logged-out person in your country sees them. You see how many of the 20 answers named you, who was named instead and which websites the answers relied on. It also takes about two minutes and needs no sign-up.

The two measure different things. A high grader score says the models know you and speak well of you. A low Boldlisted count says buyers who ask for a recommendation are being sent elsewhere. A business can do well on one and badly on the other.

Where HubSpot is stronger

HubSpot AEO updates its score every day, against Boldlisted's weekly run, scores sentiment, and its trial needs no card. If you already run Marketing Hub Pro or Enterprise, it is included, next to your CRM and content tools. The grader works from a company name, location, industry and product, so you can score any brand, a competitor included.

Where Boldlisted is different

Boldlisted adds Claude, asks every question on four assistants each week, and drafts pages for the questions you are missing (5 a month on Starter). For several brands, HubSpot sells one AEO instance per brand at $50 a month each, which for 15 brands comes to $750 a month; Boldlisted's Agency plan covers up to 15 client businesses for $149 and emails each client a weekly report under your agency's logo.

See whether buyers are sent to you

The free check asks ChatGPT and Gemini ten questions your buyers ask, without your name in them, and shows how often you are named and who is named instead.
