AI visibility tools ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and other assistants the questions your buyers ask, and show whether you are named. Eleven of them, compared on what they cost, how you can start for free, which assistants they cover and whether they report to clients.

You want to see where you stand before paying anything
Boldlisted's free check needs no account and shows the full report: every question, every answer, who was named instead and the websites the assistants relied on. HubSpot's AI Search Grader gives a one-off score out of 100, and Ahrefs and Semrush each offer a free checker. Rank Prompt's free account gives 10 credits.
One business on a small budget
Boldlisted Starter ($39, four assistants, 25 questions every week, page drafts included), Rank Prompt Starter ($49 monthly, or $39 billed yearly, credit-based, six engines) and HubSpot AEO ($50, three assistants) are the lowest-priced ways to keep tracking every week.
Agencies reporting to clients
Rank Prompt's Agency plan ($149) suits agencies with many brands and a client portal. Boldlisted's Agency plan ($149) emails each of up to 15 clients a weekly report under the agency's name, with prospect checks to win new clients. Peec AI, Promptwatch, Writesonic and Scrunch all sell agency plans from €205 to $500 a month.
Google AI Overviews, AI Mode or Copilot matter most
Otterly.AI, Peec AI, Semrush, Ahrefs, Promptwatch and Scrunch cover Google's AI answers; Boldlisted does not cover AI Overviews or Copilot.
A large brand covering many engines and markets

What to check before you choose
Ask how each tool collects answers (from the real consumer apps as your buyers see them, or from an API), how often each question is asked (answers vary from one asking to the next), and whether it reports a count you can verify, such as named in 6 of 20 answers, rather than a single rank.
